A valuable resource, October 23, 2000

As a teacher of English as a Second Language, I have used many different
picture dictionaries. The Oxford Picture Dictionary for Kids is very well
organized and uses a group of characters that provide continuity throughout
the dictionary. These characters provide a continual story line so that I
use the dictionary not only for "finding words," but also as a base for
teaching content-area information. The pictures are clear and well-defined
and cover a large vocabulary spectrum. |
