This book is great! When I first began learning Spanish on my own, I bought it
but put it aside for a while. It was just all so overwhelming. After using some
Spanish software for a while, picking up more vocabulary, I decided to give this
book a try. It is wonderful! It explains all those questions I had like why is
it always me gusta, not me gusto. The explanations are thorough and the topics
covered are extensive. Well worth the money!

I'm a Spanish student (beginner level) and I find this book really useful. It
has a lot of exercises which is not so hard but makes you learn a lot. I know
this is not enough to be fluent with Spanish. I know I really need to speak a
lot of Spanish each day for me to be fluent and that is why Practice makes
perfect! If you are a beginner then I recommend this book to you.

This has been a wonderful addition to my Spanish class. It is a great workbook
that has really helped me practice the very numerous Spanish verb tenses. I love
it! I'm going to buy the other Practice Makes Perfect Spanish workbooks. I
DEFINITELY recommend this book!

I found the Spanish verb tenses book to be very clear and easy to understand, I
have read many Spanish books which have confused me as they have gone into too
much grammar. This book keeps it nice and simple and the examples used are easy
to relate to. After reading this book I found myself going back to my old
Spanish books and could finally understand them thanks to this book.

I got this book as an accompaniment to another Spanish book I bought at the same
time. This book is so much better! It gives very clear explanations and examples
and the best are the exercises and translations that you are asked to do. The
complete answer key is in the back to check your work. I highly recommend this
book!

I began learning Spanish 16 months ago on a very informal basis, largely due to
my changing work environment. I have purchased some instrtuctional CD's and
Spanish for Dummies and Spanish Verbs for Dummies. The 'dummies' series does
offer information about culture and provides an excellent phonetic reference for
correct pronunciation of words. Both were interesting and pragmatic.
This book, [Spanish Verb Tenses] was recommended by Amazon. I read the reviews
and found the price to be reasonable enough to try the book. I have found the
book to be very user friendly. The concepts and gramatical basics are covered,
but the exercises are enjoyable. I have since purchased Ms. Richmond's other two
books: one for vocabulary and the other for pronouns. Each have delivered the
exceptional discussion of language. They highlight both the similarities between
english and spanish as well as the decisive differences. I feel that these books
will provide me with skills to be more confident to speak spanish to native
speakers in a gramatically correct manner. Thank you--

I wanted know is this product was suitable for my requirements. I needed a
publication which would assist in my ability to converse in Spanish. As the verb
conjugations in this language are complicated I needed something to refer to at
any given time. I found this book most helpful because it helped me to bring
back to mind things I had previously learned while living in Spain, which I
started to learn late in life and therefore not so easy to retain. I recommend
this publication and others in the series to anyone who is determined to
continue using this language.

I would recommend this book along with Practice Makes Perfect: Spanish Pronouns
and Prepositions for any level learner of Spanish, but I'd advise you to have a
little bit previous knowledge. It's really cheap, explains every important
concept in a very simple way and includes lots of exercises to practice. I've
been using this book since the summer after I finished my first year of
Elementary Spanish at college. I think it was very useful, especially in my
second year of Spanish when I still didn't understand many grammar concepts but
was given a text book written entirely in Spanish. This workbook explains things
very clearly in English, which is important for beginners. Now that I am close
to fluent in Spanish, I still use this book now and again to look up things I'm
fuzzy on, and I definitely plan to use it to help me as a Teaching Assistant for
students next year.

Use this book as a companion to whatever book/CD (grammar, vocab. Rosetta stone
etc.) you are using to learn Spanish. I've finished the Rosetta Stone Latin
American Spanish volume 1, and know a little bit of Spanish now. But if you are
a beginner-beginner, this book may not be right for you. Especially, it may be
very challenging for a new student to translate English into Spanish. Every
section ends with a "translation/traduccion" exercise. In the first unit, you
have to translate a whole paragraph--about 10 sentences of English--into
Spanish.
Example from the 1st Unit translation exercise: "Marcos lives in Montana. His
mother works in a school where she teaches music and phys. ed. In the morning
she plays the piano, sings, and practices with the band."
If you started Spanish yesterday or today and are able to translate this in
Spanish, you are definitely a genius. Without finishing the Level 1 of the
Rosetta Stone, I would never have been able to translate it.
This is a fantastic book with a lot of exercises. No question about it. But if
you are a beginner-beginner, use this book as a companion (not as your primary
source) to whatever CD/books you are using now.

Advancing within my present employment requires Spanish fluency. To achieve
bi-lingual certification, I purchased various Spanish software programs. My
progress remained slow. I began to believe that I had no hope of ever going
beyond understanding a word or two from each sentence, and hoping I could manage
something that made sense in reply.
Conjugating verbs was my greatest obstacle until I found this book. I can now
reason out which tense to use, and which order to place the verb and subject in
a sentence. I wish I had found this book sooner!
The book presents each rule in manageable segments, then gives excercizes to
test the reader's understanding. The excercizes are excellent reinforcement. I
write the answers on a separate piece of paper rather than in the book. Leaving
the pages unmarked allows me to repeat sections that might have given me
problems the first time, as well as review excercizes after I've moved on. I
also made up my own flashcards and vocabulary lists using the verbs and
supplemental vocabulary lists. The cards or lists are reviewed 20 minutes each
day, using various mnemonic techniques which I learned elsewhere.
I now have a three prong approach to learning Spanish: the book for
understanding grammar, lists and flashcards for expanding and testing
vocabulary, software and TV to hear Spanish spoken by native speakers and to
record my own voice in reply.
I am finally making progress! This book was worth every penny. IT WORKS!

This book was extremely helpful for me as you really need this kind of written
practice in Spanish verbs if you are going to fully master the various
conjugations (especially for me sitting a university paper in spanish).
I highly recommend it, it really helped me practice recalling the words out of
my own head.

I give private Spanish lessons. Although this book may seem tedious at times, it
really helps my students understand the patterns of verb conjugation and
memorize verb meanings. I highly recommend it for beginners, or for those who
would like a refresher.

This is an outstanding book that covers the Spanish Verb Tenses superbly. There
are great explanations and examples to practice your understanding. I teach
Spanish in high school and this book is at the top of my resource list. I
recommend it in the classroom or for individuals wanting to improve their
Spanish.

This is a must have book for Spanish learning. It's a great go-to-book and has
everything you need. If you are studying Spanish you should have this book in
the house... as well as the other books in this series.

This is a great reference grammar book, excellent for beginners and intermediate
students of the spanish language, covering all aspects of prepositions and
pronouns with numerous examples covering all types of usage. Very useful and
thorough exercises in both languages, that if you manage to complete them all,
you become a master of the subject.
This book along with the one covering prepositions and pronouns are the top best
that I could find to assist me in my spanish classes.

This is one in a great series of Spanish study books. Lots of exercises so you
can really practice. Also the organization makes for a great reference. My
English grammar is terrible so I have a hard time figuring out what tense I want
to use. The beginning of each section has an explanation of how the tenses
translate. The pronouns and prepositions book is also great.

Easy to use with worksheets that make the subject clear. I particularly like the
written paragraph exercise. After writing the paragraph you can check your
Spanish phrasing in the answer section.
