5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT! SAME CATEGORIES AS BEHIND THE WHEEL SPANISH!!, December 11, 2008
By  Commuter Learner "Commuter" (Seattle, Washington) -

Easy Spanish Phrase Book is one of the easiest ways I know of to learn simple, yet useful phrases in Spanish. The price is outrageously cheap, the size makes it totally portable, and the categories it includes, such as restaurants, transportation, etc ... are indispensable.
I highly recommend you not stop with Easy Spanish, but rather go ahead and buy Behind the Wheel Spanish 8 CD and book Behind the Wheel - Spanish 1 followed by the intermediate level Behind the Wheel Spanish 2 Behind the Wheel - Spanish 2.
These make an excellent combination with Easy Spanish Phrase Book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Little Phrase Book, November 29, 2008
By  N. White "avid reader" (Clearwater, FL USA)

The Easy Spanish Phrase Book was helpful for learning key phrases to help one communicate with Spanish speaking persons. It was a bargain for what it was intended to do. It was not, however, a guide for general conversation or idententifing specific words and was limited to set phrases. For this purpose, it was set up well with categories listed in a simple format.

2.0 out of 5 stars strange and outdated, October 26, 2008
By  J. M. Bowen-Shauver "redpram" (Chicago, IL)

This book was certainly cheap and it is certainly easy to carry. But it was also almost entirely useless. I know only a little Spanish, but enough that this book was not useful to me, because I already knew how to say anything in it that was meaningful to our travels. My husband, on the contrary, knows almost no Spanish. When attempting to shop on his own, he discovered that this book will tell you how to buy gold cufflinks, scarves, gloves, and almost every item of apparel except shirts and pants. It contains a very strange collection of phrases and does not appear to have been updated since its first publication in the 50s. Not useful if you want to ask the location of an internet cafe.

2.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money, October 25, 2008
By  Jacqueline Lee Hembree "nxtfaze" (arlington, wa)

Very small book that gives you such bare essentials that you really get nothing at all. If you have to go to Mexico tonight and this was the only book you had then maybe take it because its better than zilch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better with Behind the Wheel Spanish 8 CDs & Book, October 7, 2008
By  Claudia Freeman "Language Aficionado" (Seattle, WA)

No question that Easy Spanish Phrase Book is an inexpensive and relevant way to learn useful basic Spanish phrases. The problem is that most of these phrases are canned and not original.
I recommend you use this handy little booklet along with Macmillan Audio's
Behind the Wheel Spanish 8 CDs and book. Behind the Wheel - Spanish 1 (Behind the Wheel) which will teach you how to create your own sentences.
Great combo for the money!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought, September 23, 2008
By  N. Salazar (Dallas, TX USA)

I paid very little for this booklet. Its vocabulary its a bit short (among others; soda/refreshment is not there) Some translations could be better (It's raining, should be; Esta lloviendo, instead of; Llueve) Some times they translate to English using "One" instead of using "A"... These situations are few. To be a traveler's booklet it can help you very well in many situations. The alphabet pronunciation section is very helpful and each word has a pronunciation spelling right under it that is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spanish Made Easy for someone who can't speak too well, September 8, 2008
By  Damian O. Plaza "Omen X" (Chicago, Illinois)

I actually do speak well in spanish, but I needed a few brush ups. I absolutely think this is the easiest and most user friendly book out there. My co workers always come in to use it. If you want to have something handy in case your stuck with your spanish than this is the one. Very user friendly and easy to understand.
