Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - I agree - the other one is better
After an introduction to Spanish, my students really enjoy CD's - especially ones that feature "real " conversations or catchy songs. This one is pretty good, but I agree with the other reviewers, the vocabulary that is focused on does not go as well with other textbooks or curriculum, and so is not reinforcing or building confidence near as much as it could. I recommend Hop Skip and Sing as well (by Ana Lomba) but it's a little young for my 6 year old already.

As with all CD's, I do recommend flash cards or something to go along with it, to help concrete the information and the experience. Immersion works, but only after a foundation (however small) has been built. Presenting the target language (Spanish in this case) in many formats will produce better results, faster, and longer lasting!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A hit with the grandkids
Just like the other Beth Manners's CDs this one was a hit. Very practical language - and this CD includes quite a bit of culture - so very useful. They love all the games a music.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Most interactive CD
We have all of Beth Manners' CDs . This one is the most interactive. For example the children play Simon Says along with the CD and they do the Mexican Hat Dance. There is plenty of very practical vocabulary and phrases but it also includes Spanish culture - a trip to Barcelona - where they eat delicious Spanish foods such as gazspacho soup and crema catalana. Makes my kids want to travel! We love this one too!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Language and culture
I like this CD because it teaches lots of Spanish language and also adds culture. Love the little trip they take to Barcelona. When I visited Spain with my three kids, they could not wait to taste Crema Catalana because they learned about it on this excellent CD. And - they ordered it in Spanish ( with a little help from me). Was quite delicious!

I speak five languages and I have found that language and culture should be taught together.

The pronunciation is authentic and clear. Spanish is spoken with many different pronunciations, all over the world. This pronunciation is typically Latin American. It is important for learners to hear all pronunciations, in order to develop a good ear. We have all of Beth Manners' CDs and my kids love them all.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - not NEARLY AS GREAT AS FUN SPANISH
If you are looking for one CD to help your kids learn Spanish, don't get this one, get BETH MANNERS FUN SPANISH FOR KIDS. This one misses many opportunities to teach Spanish--there are whole songs done only in English, not to mention some rather strange and drippy information about Spain, Columbus etc. Even on an imaginary tour of Spain one learns mostly obscure words--for instance the Spanish word for creme brulee. I'm sure your 7 year old need to know that one! On the other hand FUN SPANISH is a complete joy, and teaches MUCH of this same material plus a whole lot more. I just don't think there's any comparison between the two. My daughter likes this fine, but nine times out of ten she'll request the FUN SPANISH tape-- she loves the Goldilocks story told in Spanish.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not as good as Fun Spanish and Magic Spanish
If you have her other 2 CD's this one seems like mostly review. It is OK but I was hoping for more words to learn instead of repeating so many. The other 2 CD's "Fun Spanish" and "Magic Spanish" hold my 2.5 yr old son's attention - this one he tuned out almost immediately. It is still OK - just not what I expected or hoped for.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very interactive
This CD is unique because it is very interactive. Children play Simon Says in Spanish and do lots of fun activities. Lively and upbeat. Perfect pronunciation - it has it all. We already have Fun Spanish for Kids and Magic Spanish for Kids which I also recommend. We just ordered the coloring book Spanish Coloring for Kids.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wonderful!
My 4.5 yr old is speaking several spanish words & phrases after listening to this DVD only about 5 times. It's totally fabulous!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastico!
This is a wonderful CD. I've tried many but this really holds my children's interest. It is a very active CD. The children are dancing the Mexican Hat dance or playing Simon Says in Spanish. They go to Barcelona and stroll around the city. My children enjoy doing the activities along with the CD which also makes it more memorable. I highly recommend it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My kids love it.
My kids find this CD to be a lot of fun. They enjoy the games and activities and are picking up many Spanish words and phrases. We also have the other Beth Manners CDs so they are really starting to build their vocabulary.
