Good for colic! Chinese songs in regional dialects., October 8, 2002

Reviewer: Wallis Davenport "joyous2" (Ithaca, NY)

This soothing album is so beautiful and calming that it was one of the few that our daughter would fall asleep to consistantly during her first twelve weeks when she had colic. Even now, as our daughter is six months old, this album is still her favorite for sleeptime. The music is simply enchanting and features lullabies from different provinces in China.

I would like to add, though, for those of you interested in having your child be exposed to the Chinese language, that because the cd features songs from all over China, most of the songs are not in Mandarin, but in provincial dialects. All that aside, it certainly can't hurt for a baby to be exposed to several different dialects, but be aware that this cd won't be part of your "learn to speak Chinese" collection.

Outstanding!, October 5, 1999

Reviewer: Robert Howard-horst (Springfield, OH USA)

This is a gorgeous and mesmerizing CD! It doesn't matter if you understand Chinese or not, the hypnotic effect of the choir transcends any language. The music is minimalist and wisely so; allowing the beauty of the Beijing Angelic Choir (a fitting name, by the way!) to take center stage. The only slight criticism I can make is that the CD might be a bit repetitive for some tastes. However, I love it. At the very least, it is great "background" music for studying, painting, or just relaxing. At the most, it makes for some of the best music I've heard for some time.

What a beautiful CD! I listen to it over and over. It is so peaceful and relaxing and you don't even need to have a baby or child to own this CD. You will definitely want to add this to your collection.

Chinesse Lullabies-Beijing Angelic Choir, September 14, 2005

Reviewer: Kara L. Furniturewalla "proud aunt" (Miami, FL USA)

I sent this for my adopted, niece to ease her transition into our western, culture. Thought it would make her surroundings a bit more familiar. Although it was meant for my infant niece, seems my sister & brother-in-law could'nt wait to listen. They enjoyed it so much that they immediately installed it on their i-pod(tm). I had occasion to hear it myself when I went to help decorate the nursery. The voices are so soothing...universal in their lulling effect...angelic to the point of being ethereal. I would highly, recommend this disc for parents of any cultural, origin. Even adults will feel at peace listening to these heavenly voices.

This CD had a lot of songs that are very soothing and calming. It is good for both baby and adults. My little nephew loves it and he falls asleep to it right away.

Truly angelic - great music for YOUR little angel!, August 14, 2005

Reviewer: Haute Momma "mother of one" (Music City)

This is a beautiful lullaby CD & will definitely lull your little one off to sleep in no time... Very relaxing and beautiful. The tracks do all sound a little the same, but I guess that's good in a way because the CD never really "breaks" - it just flows from track to track, like one big symphony. This is a great way to expose your little one to other cultures and music. Highly recommend.
