This workbook contains exercises for listening comprehension, language practice, and discussion specifically related to the video broadcasts in the Chinese Breakthrough series. This audio-visual program is designed to allow high-intermediate level students of Chinese to "break through" the initial frustrations and seeming incomprehensibility of Mandarin TV news programs and allow them to increase their comprehension and enjoyment of this important form of mass communication. Based on authentic journalistic Chinese and supported by extensive examples and exercises, this course is appropriate for high school, college, or adult learners in government, business, journalism, and education.
